Verizon signs technology deal with HCLTech

Verizon's wireline business, which includes selling to business customers, has been a drag on its revenue for several years. Under the terms of the deal, Verizon Business will lead sales and development, while HCLTech will take care of post-sale network roll-out and support. Some Verizon employees will also move to HCLTech.

Verizon will design, build and operate the FAA’s new next-generation communications platform. The telecom company said it will "build the FAA a dynamic, highly available and secure enterprise network to support all of the agency's mission critical applications across the National Airspace System." Verizon Business CEO Kyle Malady said the project would help lead the FAA through "a telecommunications infrastructure transformation that utilizes the latest advances in technology and networking solutions." He added the it would provide "dynamic services and bandwidth provisioning, to improved insight and visibility into network service configuration and operation." A 2021 Transportation Department Office of Inspection General report repeatedly cited challenges in the FAA's multi-billion dollar Next Generation Air Transportation System infrastructure project.
March 3 (Reuters) - Verizon Communications Inc finance chief Matt Ellis will leave the wireless carrier in May, it said on Friday in a slew of senior leadership changes. Senior Vice President Tony Skiadas will replace Ellis, the company said while announcing new leaders to its key verticals. Sowmyanarayan Sampath, who leads Verizon Business Group, will be executive vice president and chief executive of Verizon Consumer Group. Joe Russo, senior vice president and chief network officer, will replace Malady as president of Global Networks and Technology, which looks over 5G, 4G, Fiber and Edge computing services. In its latest quarterly report in January, Verizon forecast annual profit below expectations hurt by higher costs, tepid growth in wireless customers and high competition.
